FOA Service Member of the Year Award

The FOA Service Member of the Year Award recognizes a military service member—active duty or veteran—who has gone above and beyond to inspire others, demonstrate outstanding commitment, and make a meaningful impact on the Face of America mission. This could be in any capacity, including as an athlete, volunteer, or supporter.

Nominations are now open for the second annual FOA Service Member of the Year Award, recognizing an exceptional individual who exemplifies service, leadership, and commitment within the Face of America community.

To be considered for this award, the nominee MUST meet both of the following criteria:

  • Be a military service member, either active duty or a veteran

  • Have participated in Face of America as a past or present athlete or volunteer

In addition, nominees should demonstrate one or more of the following qualities:

  • Outstanding dedication to the Face of America mission

  • Leadership through service, resilience, and integrity

  • A strong commitment to inclusion, teamwork, and community

  • Meaningful contributions as an athlete or volunteer

  • The ability to inspire and uplift others through words or actions

2025: Lew Meyer

We proudly introduced the first-ever Service Member of the Year Award, created to honor an individual whose lifetime of service—both in uniform and in the community—embodies the essence of patriotism and perseverance.
