If you are renting an Ebike for Face of America, we want to make sure your experience is as smooth as possible! To help you get the most out of your ride, we’ve put together an Ebike guide specifically for first-time renters. Whether you’re new to Ebikes or just want a refresher, this guide will walk you through the key functions, how to conserve your battery charge, and how to ride with confidence.
Please take a few minutes to read through the tips carefully before your ride — a little preparation goes a long way on the road!
1. The display on the handlebars shows your current speed, the amount of battery left, the distance traveled, and the level of assist the motor is providing.
TIP: When starting your ride, make sure the assist is at zero

2. The power button, Assist control, and throttle are located on the left die of the handlebars. The +/- buttons control the level of assist the motor provides. We ask that for safety reasons riders do not use the throttle.

3. The shifter is located on the right side of the handlebars. Even with the motor assist, it is important to stay in a comfortable and efficient gear.
TIP: Shift to easier gears when climbing and harder gears on flat or downhill sections to maintain a comfortable cadence and conserve energy.
4. Use assist sparingly to preserve battery and reduce fatigue.
5. IMPORTANT: Inexperienced riders should avoid the throttle as the sudden jolt can cause you to lose control
6. Apply both brakes gradually and evenly. Avoid squeezing too hard or too suddenly to prevent skidding.
