Event Overview

Empower Lives with World T.E.A.M. this October

Join national non-profit World T.E.A.M. for the Face of America Liberty one-day cycling challenge to the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York on October 8, 2022. Participating athletes will ride our single-day cycling challenge along the eastern bank of the Hudson River north to West Point. The ride honors our military — veterans and active duty, both disabled and able-bodied — and celebrates the American Spirit.

Cyclists travel 56 miles on scenic back country roads starting in Nyack, New York, across the Bear Mountain Bridge to West Point. The route is fully-supported with manned rest stops, SAG and mechanic support. A free shuttle bus returns athletes to the ride start at the end of the day. Face of America Liberty provides an opportunity to welcome adaptive and able-bodied servicemen and women as teammates and to show them how much we appreciate their service and dedication to the country.

An Inspiring History

World T.E.A.M. has been organizing and directing Face of America for over two decades. Our inaugural Face of America in 2000 saw two teams of adaptive and able-bodied cyclists begin from each coast, and meet under the Gateway Arch in St. Louis, Missouri.

In 2002 and 2003, our program honored the civilian and military victims of the September, 2001 attacks on America. More than 1,000 athletes rode from Ground Zero in New York City to the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia in September, 2002. The following September, more than 600 riders completed this three-day journey.

Since 2006, the Face of America has honored injured and adaptive military veterans from wars and military conflicts worldwide through inclusive rides between the nation’s capital in Washington and the historic Civil War battlefields of Gettysburg.

Regional and national media have followed the program in the last decade. This includes reports from FOX News, New England Sports Network, Maryland Public Television, The Pentagon Channel and The Veterans Channel. Local media from Washington to Frederick and Gettysburg also cover Face of America.
